We have all seen the success of Jacqueline Wilson, her books hold huge appeal and are responsible for getting a lot of children reading for pleasure. However, when it comes to moving on to other texts pupils may be at a bit of a loss as to what to try next.

These novels are all suitable for readers in KS3, going no further in content than the ever-popular Jacqueline Wilson. Mainly tackling friendship and family problems, these light-hearted novels are a great next step in moving girls away from the younger feel texts and on to more age-appropriate narratives.
